Every herb in this wonderful blend treats both psoriasis and eczema! 13 grams of freshly ground herbs in each 3 x 5" tea bag, three bags per package. Directions: Add to your bath as you start the water. For added effectiveness add apple cider vinegar, sea or Epsom salt, oatmeal, oil, milk and/or clay, preferably Bentonite or Rhassoul Clay. Soak for 45-60 minutes. Make sure to drink lots of water during and after bath. Your bath water should be hot enough to make you sweat, but not hot enough that your heart races or you feel light headed. Follow with an oil based, alcohol and chemical free moisturizer. Organic Ingredients: Neem Leaf, Chamomile, Barberry Root, Juniper Berries, Chickweed, Oregon Graperoot, Calendula, Red Clover, Licorice Root, Burdock Root, Dandelion Root, Horsetail, St. John’s Wort, Comfrey, Cleavers. Neem Leaf: Neem leaf is often ignored as people turn to neem oil out of convenience but the leaf is the part of the Neem plant that western medicine knows the most about. The majority of scientific neem studies was done with neem leaf or neem leaf extracts and neem leaf has proven time and time again to be a very beneficial part of the plant. Neem leaves soothe and moisturize the skin and promote healing. Chamomile: Always a top herb for any irritated skin, it soothes and has anti- inflammatory abilities. Barberry Root: Since barberry is commonly used to treat various skin conditions, its use for psoriasis/eczema is a no brainer. Studies have shown that applying a barberry ointment on psoriasis lesions brought about relief. Juniper Berries: These auromatic little guys technically are a pine cone whose first recorded mention of use is in an Egyptian papyrus from 1500 B.C. Any time I can bring them into a blend I jump on it and Juniper Berries are top notch at treating P&E. Chickweed: As a vulnerary, chickweed does its best work externally. There are few skin conditions chickweed cannot help. Minor burns, lesions, acne, wounds, eczema, insect bites, nettle burns, psoriasis, and gout all bow to chickweed’s soothing hand. Oregon Graperoot: Dermatologic Therapy published a clinical study in 2010 which was designed to discern which plant extracts and compounds worked best for a variety of skin diseases. The researchers tested botanicals on patients manifesting chronic skin conditions. Of the various skin diseases tested, atopic dermatitis and psoriasis showed the most impressive results with herbal treatment. Oregon grape root was found to be effective for both atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. Calendula: No psoriasis and eczema treatment is complete without Calendula, and that's why this one's not! It has proven time and time again to be a top treatment for these skin conditions. Red Clover: There are so many red clover benefits that it's hard to understand why anyone would try to eradicate it! It detoxes your skin, regenerates skin cells and soothes eczema and psoriasis. Licorice Root: Effective treatment for rosacea, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and drug-induced skin eruptions. Researchers believe its effectiveness comes from its ability to reduce redness and irritation. Other studies have found licorice to be a powerful anti-inflammatory, helping to control swelling and redness. Burdock Root and Dandelion Root: These herbs work by helping to rid the body of toxins and allergens that may be making your immune system react and help keep plaque psoriasis skin cells and eczema from forming. Horsetail: Another of the best herbs for psoriasis and eczema is horsetail which is probably the richest source of silicon found in nature, an essential nutrient that helps repair skin. Horsetail is also effective for treating irritation, inflammation and in some cases the itching that may be associated with certain skin lesions while also helping to improve circulation and rejuvenating the connective tissue. Horsetail also has many other anti-inflammatory and wound healing properties that can also be effective with eczema and psoriasis lesions. St. John’s Wort: Numerous studies have proved St. John's Wort to be very effective against psoriasis, patients experienced improvements in swelling and redness, scaling, and thickness. Internal and external use for eczema has proven extremely beneficial, even for people who no other pharmaceutical or herbal remedy has helped. Comfrey: Anti-inflammatory, soothes irritated skin, can be used to help reduce healing time of psoriasis patches and reduce frequency of flare-ups. Comfrey has many healing properties, it's nourishes the skin and can treat a number of conditions such as burns, wounds and eczema. Cleavers: This herb not only detoxes the skin but it also is a top skin care herb with endless benefits including soothing, treating and preventing psoriasis and eczema.
